Japanese Winter Wonderland

Is it just me, or does this winter seem really, really, really cold? I am more of a summer person, so I perfer temperatures of 37 than 17. To tell you the truth I am not really fond of 'layering' when it come to winter, but it has to be done if you don't want to freeze your bum off. Where does Japan come into this?
